Jason Wilson is a lecturer in Digital Communications at the University of Wollongong. Before taking up a position at UoW, he worked as E-Democracy Director at online political campaigning organisation, GetUp!, in the Creative Industries Faculty at Queensland University of Technology, and in the Research Institute for Media Art and Design at the University of Bedfordshire.

His research interests encompass digital games, the history of digital media, the online public sphere and mobile technologies.

He co-edited the collection The Pleasures of Computer Gaming (McFarland, 2008). He has co-edited several special journal issues. He is on the Editorial Board of Sage New Media journal Convergence.

He has published articles on digital games, media history, the online public sphere, politics, regional Australia and Rugby League. He lives on the NSW South Coast.
